2 Months as a Forever Family!!

Olivia had her ph probe Tuesday of this week and her results came back as abnormal.  Olivia had over 200 episodes of reflux during the 24 hour test period with low, acidic numbers - meaning our precious angel has been waking up having severe reflux!!  We are so grateful God allowed us to find this in a timely manner.  We now have her on more appropriate medication - and get this - last night, she slept ALL through the night!!!  YEAH!!

Please be in prayer that this continues!!

Trying to post pictures

Something has happened where I can't post pictures right now???  I have the cutest pictures to post so I will get Danny to try and figure it out.

Bing came through her ph probe like a champion!! :).  Poor little thing had a tube down her nose into her stomach and braces holding both arms out straight so she couldn't pull out the cord.  We had to stay at UAB for 24 hours to have it monitored.  Hopefully we will have results by the end of the week.  It looks like she maybe refluxing almost all the time :(.  We will already begin making some adjustments to help - giving her prevacid twice a day instead of just once, thickening her formula to help it settle more, and decrease her formula to 16 oz a day rather than 24 oz.  They were VERY impressed with her weight gain and even want it to slow a little bit!!  Can you believe that?!?!  We are thrilled she is doing so well :)

Sweet Bing Bing

Our sweet little girl just continues to grow and learn new things every day!  We are amazed at her daily!  She is SO funny.  Her personality is hysterical and I can't wait for her to talk!!!

Please be in prayer for our little Bing as her reflux is still a big issue for her.  She is continuing to wake up all hours of the night and just looks uncomfortable.  It looks like the next step is a pH probe scheduled next week at UAB hospital.  This mommy is praying that she magically starts sleeping through the night and stops having trouble so she won't have to have that done.  If she does have it done, it will yeild some beneficial results they say, but I still don't want it :(.  I know I must prepare myself for many medical journeys, but I'm just not ready to start yet.  I look at her and I love her so much that I can hardly believe how much myself.  I would do anything to spare her having to go through it!

The good news is that she is growing!!!  She has already outgrown her 3-6 month sleepers - YAY!  We also just went up to size 3 diapers :).  She is growing all the time and we love her endlessly!!!  We just have to get past the reflux right now!

Just lazy weekend pictures

Okay, so these are not great family photos, but just some pictures off my mom's camera from this weekend.  The little Bing had a great time with DeeDee here :).

Bing Bing is starting to stand so much stronger!!  We of course still have to help her, but she is getting so much better!  She will also stay on her belly just a little longer than she used too before rolling over onto her back.  She is just blossoming!!!  She is giving SO much more eye contact than ever before too.  She just looks at us eye to eye and she is learning how to give kisses :).

Such a sweet picture with her DeeDee :)

Bing Bing before she was ours

I posted a few weeks ago that we had been in touch with both the director of the ICC (International China Concern), which is the program that Olivia was in which allowed her to receive her 1st heart surgery, and also a wonderful Australian couple who Olivia lived with her 1st 10 weeks of live.  These are some pictures we have received from them of our precious daughter before she was ours.  You can tell by the pictures that she was so loved early in her life.  Everyday that I look at her, I can't believe she's really here!! :)  God has given us a special little girl who is loved by so many!!  We are just lucky to be 2 of them :)
Look at this precious angel when she was just a couple of months old.

I'm not sure when this is, but I think it is precious!

The Australian church that helped raise funds for Olivia's surgery gave her this doll I believe.

Bing and her precious nanny!  Please be in prayer for her as I understand the separation from Bing Bing has been difficult for her.  She loved Bing so well for 15 months of her life!

Finally had her hands free out of the heavy coat :)

Kyla is holding Bing and the man in the red is Ron and the woman to the right is Sue.  Ron and Sue are the Australian couple that Bing Bing lived with for 10 weeks!  They no doubt saved her life!!!

They had a Christmas party at the orphanage.  Sue said they visited Bing everyday after she returned to the orphanage and that Bing would get so excited to see them. :)

These are some of the pictures they took before leaving to come meet us on March 28, 2011.  This is her nanny saying one of many difficult goodbyes.  After only having Bing for a little over a month - I can't imagine how difficult that really was.

This was Bing's 1st birthday party while in China.

Gotcha Day before they left the orphanage to come meet us - with 2 of her nannies.

Updates on Olivia

Okay, so I have been a terrible blogger!!!  I overestimated the amount of time I would have with a little one around :).  I promise to try to be better about posting!!  I will also get some updated pictures on here ASAP.

Here are just a few updates:
Her favorite colors are yellow and red - it is funny how drawn to these colors she is!!!
For the last 2 days - she has fed herself over 15 cheerios ALL by herself!!  We are so proud!
She has mommy trained to pick her up with just a sound - something mommy is having to work on :)
From our last week's doctors appointment we now know that Bing does not have mal-rotation of the bowels (this is wonderful!!).  However, she does have severe reflux AS WELL AS an enlarged and somewhat troubling shaped esophagus.  She will have a barium swallow test within the next 2 months to ensure no liquid is entering her lungs when eating or drinking.  Please pray that this is not happening.
Our little one is up to 15 lbs!!!!  YAY!  She is certainly packing on the pounds AND she grew in length as well.  She is flourishing so nicely!
Her favorite game is peek-a-boo when we put something over her face.  She laughs every time.
We are still not sleeping through the night, but with help from our wonderful International Adoption Pediatric Specialist, Dr. Chambers, as well as advice from other adoptive moms, this has improved tremendously!
She still does not like to be on her belly, but is doing it a little more.  We both think she will walk before she crawls.
She does not like, I repeat, she DOES NOT LIKE ANY doctors appointments!!  It doesn't matter if they are precious and no pain whatsoever, if you come near her with a stethoscope - she breaks out into a huge crying spell.  Once they back away - the crying stops.
We are still no happier in our car seat :(.  We will be excited for her to hit 20 lbs so she can turn around to be forward facing.

I am going to put pictures on here from those that knew and loved her in China.  We have pictures now from when she was just a few weeks old!!  Can you believe that?!?!  As soon as we get them downloaded - I'll post them.  We are so thankful for them and can't wait to share!
